Cleansing Mango & Coconut Smoothie Bowl



Here’s another smoothie bowl that is both healthy and tastes heavenly - my delicious Cleansing Mango & Coconut Smoothie Bowl.


The healthy superhero of this smoothie bowl is Chlorella - a freshwater algae rich with phytonutrients, including chlorophyll, amino acids, B-vitamins, magnesium beta-carotene and more. It detoxifies the body, balances hormones, lowers blood sugar, improves the brain function and energizes the body.


Chlorella can have a bit of a ‘strong’ taste, but pairing it with tasty fruit like mango and coconut neutralises the taste and makes it taste like summer in the Caribbean.


To make the smoothie extra healthy, I used frozen cauliflower which tastes neutral, so it will thicken and add creaminess to the smoothie, without changing its taste.


I also used avocado for healthy fats and extra creaminess, hemp protein, linseeds and chia seeds for healthy omega 3 fats, and stevia for some extra sweetness. You can also use maple syrup or dry fruit if you don’t like the taste of stevia. Okay, here we go with the full recipe:


Cleansing Mango & Coconut Smoothie Bowl


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen mango

  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen cauliflower

  • ½ cup of fresh or dried coconut

  • ½ avocado

  • 1 tablespoon of hemp protein (or any plant-based protein of your choice)

  • 1 teaspoon of linseeds

  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds

  • A pinch of raw green stevia for extra sweetness

  • Topping of your choice (I used granola and red summer berries)


Method:


Blend them all together in a high-speed blender (Vitamix or NutriBullet f.e.) and enjoy!
